Move over Whopper, it’s taco time.
Burger King is now selling $1 BK Crispy Tacos for a limited period of time.
In a move that’s sure to delight the late-night bar crowd, BK is aiming to compete with Taco Bell and Chipotle by getting into the Mexican fast-food game.
It’s not yet known how long the BK Crispy Tacos — which were test-marketed in Western states — will be available.
“We’ve seen success with tacos in those [initial] restaurants and knew it was time to bring this West Coast favorite nationwide,” Chris Finazzo, president of North America for Burger King, says in a statement.
Fast-food chains are increasingly using limited-time menu items to build hype — and tacos are a “very popular” way to “get a slice of that action,” Neil Saunders, managing director of GlobalData Retail, a research and consulting firm, tells CNN.
