Several female stars joined the masses of women in New York marching in protest for women’s rights on Saturday.
“I am here in the march and today I march for women,” Drew Barrymore said in an emotional Instagram post. “I have two daughters and its emotional to be in these places and in this time in the world and all I can say is do it for her and fight, fight like a girl.”
Barrymore who is mother to Olive, 5, and Frankie, 3, also participated last year in a march — which took place all over the country — the day after Donald Trump‘s inauguration.
This year in New York, 120,000 people joined the rallies, according to Mayor De Blasio’s office, while cops on the ground said as many as 200,000. It was one of 200 women’s marches planned this weekend around the world.
Jill Kargman, sister of Barymores’s ex and star of Bravo’s “Odd Mom Out,” also posted a photo holding signs in protest.
Mother-daughter duos including Christie Brinkley and Sailor Brinkley Cook and former “Real Housewife” Kelly Bensimonand daughter Teddy Bensimon were also on the streets of New York.
En route to the march, Brinkley wrote on Instagram,“Today we March for LOVE! Equality! Human Rights! For every person and our environment to be treated with respect and LOVE! It’s all about respect and love!”
