The stage is now set for municipal election contests in at least two Lake-area communities and one school district Tuesday, April 5. Filings closed at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19.
The city of Osage Beach will have three races.
In what could become a hotly contested race for mayor, Ward 3 Alderman John Olivarri has announced he will challenge incumbent mayor Penny Lyons for her seat. Olivarri has been an alderman since April 2007, and Lyons has been mayor since April 2000. Olivarri’s board seat expires in April 2017.
Former city administrator Nancy Viselli has filed to run against Phyllis Marose for Marose’s Ward 2 seat, and Gloria O’Keefe has filed for the collector’s seat currently held by John Berry, who also has filed. Berry has been collector since April 2002.
